Room stuff

Well, since I don't have any new pics of Corynn yet, I'll show you some of her furniture & bedroom decor :)

It's a good day!!!

I woke up this morning believing today would be a bad luck day...after I took a shower I went to blow dry my hair and my dryer was broken!! I had to drive to work with my windows down and the sunroof open and every now and then stick my head out the window so my hair would dry!!! Things got better...we got our approval letter today from INS!!! FINALLY!!!FINALLY!!!FINALLY!!! Actual movement of our process :) I'm so happy!! Now on to DNA & Family court! Thank you to everyone for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, please continue them for the rest of our long journey.

still waiting...

I feel like the Energizer Bunny commercial, except instead of "still going" I'm saying "still waiting"....I called USCIS again today and was told that my file still is not even a blip on their screen yet. I may be close though b/c their website (which hasn't been updated since March 15) says they are processing adoption petitions from December 13....so, since it's now more than a month later we MUST be close right?

I did find out from my agency today that we are in Family Court (!!!)...I think this is a positive, even though my atty is waiting on doing the birth mother & foster mother interviews until we have INS approval so he can get the FC and DNA interviews done at once.

David and I are hanging the curtains I bought for Corynn's room this weekend...makes me feel like we're doing something. Retail therapy always comforts me :)

Happy Belated Easter!

I hope everyone had a happy Easter! David, the boys, and I went camping over the weekend and had a blast...they had a karaoke night at the campground we stayed at, and the boys were little karaoke hogs!!...of course I was up there with them :-) The only downer of the trip was we felt like we were missing a child :-( but next Easter Corynn will be with us! Our agency said that they won't have any updates for anyone until probably next week...I'm hoping for some new pictures!

Pray pray pray...good thoughts!!

Well, I won't be visiting Guat right now. My agency said that they have families wait until DNA is completed before traveling to visit. I would just like to ask that everyone keep us in your thoughts and prays at this time...Guatemala is going through steps right now to place more reforms and rules on adoptions..which might not necessarily be a bad thing, but it can hold up our process even longer & WORST case senerio they put a hold on all adoptions. Just pray right now for the US government to get on the ball and catch up with the approval of Adoption petitions!!! That way we can get our INS approval and get DNA going!!!

Guatemala or Bust!

How much do I want to go on a visit trip to Guatemala. I want to go yesterday. I emailed my agency today to ask what we need and how soon in advance we need to let them know that we want to go. We still don't have DNA done yet, & I think you have to have it done & matched before you are allowed to go (??) not sure. I just happen to be scheduled off work 5 days in a row from April 19-23. David is leary of visiting, he's afraid that it will break me...he says he knows what a fierce mama I am and I won't be able to leave her when it's time to go...but I have to actually see & hold her..& video tape so I can watch it repeatedly :) When I finally had him convinced that we have to go in 2 weeks if we're allowed, Mr. Rationality pointed out the fact that my passport hasn't arrived yet :( It's been 6 weeks since I applied....maybe it will be in by then. ;)
